Peer Mentoring
Program Purpose
The Peer Mentoring Program is a program designed to assist in the social and personal troubles by pairing youth with outstanding youth who are trained and act as mentors throughout the year.
Why Mentoring?
Mentoring can be defined as a helpful relationship between peers. The purpose of having a mentoring relationship is to assist youth with the challenges they may experience through high school. The Peer Mentoring Program provides academic and personal support for participating youth during the challenging years of Middle and High School. Relationships are built by matching mentors and mentees through interviews, profiles, and mentor matching sessions.
One of the primary goals of the Peer Mentoring Program is to foster academic and social excellence through building relationships with each other that will hopefully develop into a very strong friendship.
