Kenton County Alliance and Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation Produce Alcohol Abuse Public Service Announcement
Alcohol Abuse PSA to Hit Televisions Soon…

June 20, 2011 – Northern Kentucky: The Kenton County Alliance, along with non-profit organization, Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation, have teamed up to produce a message that hits home to many residents of Northern Kentucky.

The purpose of this message is to educate parents of the serious consequences of irresponsibly providing alcohol to minors.  In a recent survey, 65% of teen drinkers have reported to have consumed alcohol at a friend’s home or in their own home. The public service announcement features Danette Kappelman, a local mother who has experienced firsthand the deadly consequences of teenage binge drinking.

The “Pledge to Change” Public Service Campaign encourages parents to take a pledge on the campaign website, that they will not provide alcohol to minors. More information about the campaign and to view the 30 second and 60 second PSA’s, please visit: http://www.pledgetochange.org.

The “Pledge to Change” was paid for by a grant provided by the Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy and was produced and directed by Plum Street Productions. Special thanks to media partners: Fox 19, Local 12 and WCPO.
