Dear NKY Youth Foundation Supporters;

Over the past few months, the Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation’s Board of Directors has been assessing and planning how it will continue to address the needs of the community at large. We have seen a large increase in organizations which provide youth services, which has had a positive effect on our communities’ youth. We do not wish to compete with these service providing organizations because we feel they are doing a great job at helping their focused schools and communities. We have seen a void that the Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation feels it can fill by both helping these service providing organizations as well as our entire focus area; Boone, Campbell and Kenton Counties. Effective immediately, the Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation will be transforming from a service provider to a youth advocate.

The Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation’s primary focus will no longer be on the individual, but on the student body as a whole. We will work on behalf of Northern Kentucky’s youth with the state legislature, media, and be a collaborative effort between area volunteers, parents, teachers, students and community partners. We will be working with service providers to advocate on their behalf for their causes, as well as making sure decisions being made on a school, city, county or state level have the best interest of students in mind. It is important to note that we plan to work with the schools to advocate on behalf of student issues as well as offer seminars to parents and members of the community to raise student achievement.

As an example, one of our advocacy programs will be working with schools to help explain the effects of bullying as well as educating parents, teachers and students how as a community we can battle bullying and cyber bullying. Other programs of interest can be viewed on our website.

We invite:

  • Parents to contact us if they need help or guidance with a particular issue they feel needs to be addressed in their community or school.
  • Students to contact us to voice their concerns or opinions
  • The general public visit our website for a region wide directory of service providers, advocate contacts, and issues that arise which affect students either positively or negatively.

We are also looking for a variety of volunteers that are involved or would like to get involved in their local school boards, site based councils, local city or county meetings. You can volunteer or read more information about volunteering by visiting: http://www.nkyyouth.org/get-involved/.

We are very excited about this change in direction for the Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation, and we appreciate your continued support. We feel that if we work together as a community, we will be able to make the largest impact on our most valuable asset, our youth. Please consider this a call to action, we would love to have you on our team as we advocate and give our voice to the community youth.

 As always, we thank you for your continued support,
